The Blackberry Z3 makes its way into India. Blackberry and their legendary smart phones have been slowly climbing back into the hearts and minds of the masses. After a quick stir up of power from the top down and a fresh QNX based operating system, the company is slowly taking back their part of the smart phone pie. Most recently we’ve seen devices like the Blackberry Z30, and the Q10 with a taste of what’s to come with leaks of the Passport aka the Q30. Today news of the companies Z3 model moving into India has hit the wire.
Way back in January rumors of a Blackberry Jakarta began circulating into the headlines. The device was set to come with a mid to low end spec sheet and would aim to compete with a few of Nokia’s Lumia’s as well as a handful of other Galaxies. Announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona shortly after its leaks the Z3 was born. A few months after its official announcement the device then made its way to Indonesia and now it looks as if the handset will be making its way into India. The Z3 is manufactured by Foxxconn and cuts the cost of the device rather low. The price tag for the handset in India will run you about 15.900 INR which loosely translates into about $265 bucks. At a price like this it should do rather well in the country and may help the company regain some market share in the region. As for the device it comes with a 5 inch qHD touch screen that offers up a 540×960 pixel resolution. Internally the Z3 comes with a Qualcomm made Snapdragon chipset that uses a 1.2 Ghz dual core CPU and is backed by a Adreno 305 GPU, 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 GG of internal storage and expandable micro SD memory options up to 32 GB. Add in connectivity such as GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, WI-Fi, and micro USB charging and that wraps up all that is the Z3.
