ZTE_nubia_x6_2The new ZTE Nubia X6 phablet phone is announced in China with a rather impressive spec sheet. Every year that passes in this crazy mixed up mobile world is one day closer to next generation hardware. While you’ve likely heard of the recently launched HTC One and Galaxy S5 devices you’ve likely never heard of the ZTE Nubia series of smart phones. While ZTE is common its Nubia handsets are usually only found in China. While the new Nubia X6 is likely not going to be breaking into new markets (aka the US), it’s OK to dream right?

The ZTE made Nubia X6 is the next generation in awesome! This excellent device is thin, it looks good and it comes with an amazing spec sheet. Earlier this month after a few teasers, ZTE stated they would be announcing their new Nubia the same day HTC announces their new One. Keeping their word ZTE announced the Nubia X6 yesterday. The new X6 is quite ZTE_Nubia_X6large, so much so it sort of blurs the lines between phablet and actual tablet. The Nubia X6 starts with a 6.44 inch touch screen display and is housed in an aluminum body that measures in at a super thin 7.9mm. With a screen that size, is it a tablet or a phablet? Whatever you call it, don’t call it a slouch. The X6’s new touch screen panel has a 1080×1920 resolution and has 342 pixels per inch. Internally the X6 comes with a highly capable Qualcomm made Snapdragon 801 system chip that uses a quad core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 3 GB of RAM and 32, 64 or 128 GB of built in storage. Powering the X6 you’ll find an all day 4250 mAh battery. Additionally the X6 comes with a 13 mega pixel camera with LED flash and an additional front facing 13 mega pixel sensor! Connectivity for the handset is provided by LTE, HSPA, dual SIM functionality, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 and NFC. The 64 and 128 GB variations of the device are expected to use a slightly more powerful processor that will clock in at 2.5 Ghz. The 32 GB variation will sell for 2,999 Yuan which translates into about $483 bucks, while the 64 GB variation will start at around 3,499 Yuan and the 128 GB variation at 3,999 Yuan. The Nubian series of handsets has never really seen a global launch and that is not expected to change with the X6. It may be worth the import though?
