The Nokia Lumia 929 leaks with real pictures and a new full spec sheet. The Nokia Lumia 929 has been leaking around the interwebs for a while now. The device was once known as the Bandit and subsequently launched as the Lumia 1520. Recently leaked details point to the 1520 becoming bastardized when moving to Verizon and being re-branded as the Lumia 929! While an attempt to follow the 1520’s transition into a 929 is mostly a practice in futility the 929’s existence has all but been confirmed. Today a near full spec sheet and live pictures of the device have hit the wire.
Last month Nokia took to a stage in Abu Dhabi and announced a handful of smart phones and tablets. One slightly anticipated handset that was not announced, or even mentioned was the Verizon bound Lumia 929. While it makes sense for the company to not announce an American carrier variant of a device in the UAE interested parties must know and Wpcentral.com has gotten the details! The new big red bound Lumia 929 has unofficially been revealed by the website. Live pictures and nearly ever spec needed has been exposed. According to the new sources the Lumia 929 will start with a 5 inch AMOLED touch screen display that offers up a 1080×1920 resolution and is built into a glossy white or matte black housing that measures in at 10.5 mm. Internally the Lumia 929 sports a Qualcomm made Snapdragon 800 system chip that uses a quad core 2.2 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM, up to 32 GB of internal storage. The Lumia 929 also houses a 20 mega pixel PureView camera with over sampling as well as a un-specified front facing shooter. Additional confirmed connectivity is provided by NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, WI-FI, an FM radio and a host of Verizon bloat ware. The Lumia 929 will come running the latest in Windows Phone version 8 GDR3. Unfortunately, pricing and launch windows are not a topic of discussion with this leak. According to the source the device is still testing with the carrier and is expected to launch “sometime between Thanksgiving and the beginning of next year”. We’d wager Verizon getting the handset out before the holiday shopping season, but who knows.
